Labor’s win at the 2025 Federal election was a ‘win for the ages’ as declared by the Guardian and a ‘landslide victory’ by many other media outlets.
Remarkably, Labor increased its representation in Parliament, which is opposite to all first-term Governments of the past 50 years.
Labor won 94 of 150 seats in the House of Representatives, or 62.7%; the highest percentage since 1996.

It certainly was not the result many of us were hoping for, with few silver linings. Instead of good people elected, the silver linings were the bad apples who lost their seats.
All Aboard the Trump Train - Will Dutton Hitch a Ride?
Unfortunately, with Albanese and Dutton to choose from, Australia is sliding down a continued path of stale, unimaginative leadership, while America has been revitalised under President Trump.
In particular, the Coalition should be learning from Trump’s success. Unfortunately, the current Liberal Party is not fit for purpose. They are a far cry from the ‘We Believe’ statement and Peter Dutton is equally as far away from jumping on the Trump train.
